This is a brief whistle-stop, not a display: 4014 is scheduled to pause near the depot at 19060 Depot St. in Rocky River in the early afternoon for about half an hour as it continues its westbound run. There is no organized viewing area, no ticketing, and no cab or up-close access — it is a trackside view, not a walk-up one. Times can shift with the day's operations.

Why this stop matters

On Cleveland's west side, Rocky River traces its rail history to a short line built in the late 1860s to carry excursionists to a lakeside pleasure ground. When that venture faltered it was bought in 1881 by the New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railway — the Nickel Plate Road — which used its right-of-way to push into Cleveland; the first through train from Chicago reached the city here in 1882. The little Nickel Plate depot on Depot Street, built that year, still stands and is among the oldest buildings in town.

The Nickel Plate later became part of the Norfolk & Western, a predecessor of today's Norfolk Southern, whose rails 4014 now rolls.
